Job Title: Utility Operator

Job Description

The Utility Operator supports a high-volume distribution center that ships office and facility-related products nationwide. This role focuses on hands-on warehouse tasks such as packaging, palletizing, and preparing products for shipment, ensuring orders are completed accurately and efficiently. The position does not involve operating forklifts or powered equipment and is ideal for individuals who are flexible, reliable, and comfortable working on their feet throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

Package products, including cleaning supplies, paper products, and other office-related items, according to established standards and procedures.

Palletize packaged goods safely and efficiently to prepare them for storage or shipment.

Assist with shipping activities, including staging, labeling, and organizing orders for outbound delivery.

Perform general pick and pack tasks to fulfill distribution center orders accurately.

Follow all warehouse and production guidelines to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency.

Adapt to a variety of utility tasks across the warehouse as needed, excluding forklift or powered equipment operation.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, supporting the overall cleanliness of the facility.

Stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the shift to complete assigned duties.

Collaborate with team members and follow direction from supervisors to meet daily production and shipping goals.Essential Skills

Ability to stand on feet for the entire shift.

Ability to perform repetitive warehouse tasks such as packaging, palletizing, and basic shipping support.

Willingness to be flexible and take on a variety of utility tasks as assigned.

Reliability in attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.

Basic ability to work in a fast-paced distribution center environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is a plus.

Experience in pick and pack, production, or distribution center environments is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role is based in a very clean, well-ventilated distribution center focused on office and facility-related products. The primary schedule is first shift, with hours listed as either 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with some availability needed in the morning (approximately 5–10 hours per week as indicated). The work is physically active, requiring standing and moving throughout the shift while performing packaging, palletizing, and pick-and-pack tasks. The environment is organized and production-oriented, with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and comfort while meeting daily shipping and distribution goals. Dress is typical for a warehouse setting, emphasizing safety and practicality.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Groveport, OH.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
