Job Description
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Responsible for the maintenance of the hotel’s building, grounds and the operation of its
equipment, mechanical and electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted daily operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and repairs both the interior/exterior of the building.
Cleaning, lubrication, repair and general maintenance of all equipment.
Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling and domestic water systems.
Completes work orders and maintenance logs.
Trouble shoots, diagnose and repairs all systems in physical plant.
Inspects property to identify potential and current needs.
Plans and executes ongoing maintenance projects.
Works with contractors and ensures that the work is complete to specifications.
Repair, paint and install architectural features and finishes.
Performs preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
Other Responsibilities:
Attends company orientation and other meetings as required.
Adheres to all policies and procedures.
Is expected to perform any related duty as requested by supervisor.
Assists other team members when needed.
Follows safety, security and emergency procedures and rules.
Responds to all emergencies.
Utilizes protective equipment.
Reports accidents, injuries, hazards, near misses, defective equipment, property damage or loss to supervisor.
Physical Demands/Abilities:
1. Communicate effectively with guests and co workers, i.e., provide information, answer questions, etc.
2. Stand and/or walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods.
3. Must be able to lift in excess of seventy-pounds (75) pounds on an individual basis, pushing two hundred fifty (250) pound carts, or collectively helping team members move larger loads than the weight limits listed above.
4. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
5. Reach and bend for varying lengths of time, often long periods.
6. Work in an environment that is demanding and physical with fluctuating adverse temperatures.
7. Frequent reaching, twisting, bending, stooping, walking, standing, stair climbing, ladder climbing, handling, and smiling.
Qualifications:
Building trades and/or graduation from a technical school.
General experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC and general building trades.
