Davenport Machine Setup & Operator Sycamore IL $35.00/ hour Day Shift

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Davenport Machine Setup & Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Davenport multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision components according to specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a high-volume production environment with Davenport Machines.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up Davenport multi-spindle machines, including tooling changes, adjustments, and calibration

Operate machines to produce parts that meet quality and production standards

Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings

Perform routine inspections using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges

Troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency

Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure machines are in proper working condition

Monitor production output and make adjustments to optimize performance

Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies

Document production data and report any defects or inconsistencies

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience setting up and operating Davenport or similar multi-spindle screw machines

Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and feeds/speeds

Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments

Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)

Preferred Skills:

Experience with high-volume production environments

Knowledge of secondary operations (thread rolling, knurling, etc.)

Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices

Work Environment:

Manufacturing/production floor setting

Exposure to moving machinery, noise, and metalworking fluids

Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 20 pounds
