Campus Workplace Experience & Operations is devoted to the coordination of space, people, and workplace services to create an optimal, engaging, and high-performing campus environment. Our team partners closely with Facilities, IT, Events, and business leaders to ensure our associates have functional, flexible, and inspiring spaces to do their best work.
The Workplace Operations Technician plays a hands-on role in executing daily workplace operations, small-scale construction, installations, and campus enhancements. This position supports the physical delivery of space changes, events, and workplace improvements while partnering with Facilities Maintenance for overflow and light repair support. This role is a key contributor to maintaining a high-quality, efficient, and associate-focused campus experience.
This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
Execute hands-on workplace operations tasks and small-scale construction projects, including:
Furniture, product, and equipment moves
Installation and adjustment of doors and hardware
Building and installing shelving, storage solutions, and fixtures
Minor framing, drywall patching, trim, and finish work
Installation of signage, whiteboards, accessories, and workplace amenities
Support space reconfigurations, room conversions, and campus enhancement projects in partnership with the Workplace Experience and Space Planning teams
Provide physical setup and teardown support for associate events, meetings, and engagement activities
Partner with Facilities Maintenance on light repairs, preventive maintenance support, and overflow work, escalating work that requires licensed trades or specialized expertise
Maintain campus readiness by proactively identifying and addressing minor issues before they impact associates
Use maintenance and work order systems to track tasks, document completed work, and communicate status updates
Safely operate hand and power tools in accordance with company safety standards and OSHA guidelines
Contribute to a collaborative, hands-on team environment by physically supporting space changes, moves, event setup/teardown, and campus readiness activities as needed, regardless of primary role
Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines to promote a safe working environment
Some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and support for high-visibility events or peak periods may be required
What Do You Need To Bring?
A Highschool Diploma or eqivalent
2–4+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, workplace services, or a related hands-on role
Working knowledge of basic carpentry, construction, and installation techniques
Experience with furniture systems, shelving, fixtures, and workplace installations preferred
Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools
Ability to read basic layouts, measurements, and simple drawings
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Comfort working independently and as part of a highly collaborative team
Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced, dynamic campus environment
Strong customer service mindset and “team-first” attitude
Awareness of safety best practices, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and exercise good judgment
Ability to bend, reach, sit, stop, balance, climb, stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, work with arms extended over shoulders, push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive physical tasks
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Outlook, and general software navigation
