Do you love carpentry, but want to apply your skills to a unique niche? Tired of hanging cabinets? Ready to work for truly appreciative clients? Are you passionate about history, and preserving well-made materials?
As a lead carpenter at Aksarben Works, you'll be helping to repair client windows. From on-site sill replacement to jamb rebuilds, to muntin, stile, and rail fabrication, you'll be in the craft of keeping good windows out of the landfill to bringing them back to life.
At times, you’ll also be responsible for restoring windows throughout various stages of the restoration process, from removing them from their openings, stripping sash, re-glazing, to re-installing sash with new weatherstripping. It’s a fun position where no two jobs are exactly alike. There’s a combination of field and shop work, but the primary restoration work takes place in the shop. Because we serve the region, some travel may be involved as well.
