Job Title: Diesel Mechanic (Semi Trucks & Heavy Equipment)

Position Type: Part-Time 20-30 hours per week

Job Summary

K&M Construction General Contractor is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform general maintenance and repairs on semi trucks and construction equipment. This role is critical in keeping our fleet and equipment running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced with diesel engines and heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on semi trucks and construction equipment

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues

Conduct preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake service, and inspections

Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems

Maintain accurate service records and logs

Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards

Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs as needed

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

Experience working on diesel engines, semi trucks, and/or heavy equipment

Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills

Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems

Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

Strong attention to detail and safety practices

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in construction or fleet maintenance

CDL (a plus, but not required)

Certification in diesel or heavy equipment repair (preferred but not required)
