K&M Construction General Contractor is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This role focuses on residential projects, with an emphasis on yard grading and site preparation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating equipment safely and efficiently in a construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, loaders, and graders

Perform residential yard grading and site preparation

Read and interpret site plans and grading specifications

Ensure proper leveling, drainage, and soil preparation

Conduct pre-trip and post-operation equipment inspections

Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues

Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors on job sites

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of residential yard grading experience

Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting

Ability to read and understand grading plans

Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in residential construction or site development

Basic maintenance knowledge of heavy equipment
