Job Purpose
The INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS SENIOR ADVISOR supports the development of Thales Group in the assigned territory. He/She is the interface between the Thales Group, on the one hand, and the administrations, cabinet offices, forces, customers, partners etc on the other hand. He/she works closely with and advises all Thales Group entities.
Description of main activities
In his/her scope of activity, the INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS SENIOR ADVISOR will:
ASSSIT AND ADVISE WITH SALES ACTIVITIES
Assist Thales in formulating country strategic development plan.
Assist Thales in defining commercial strategy for key opportunities / bids.
Handle executive contact plans to support the sales campaigns.
Work closely with all Thales stakeholders to secure customer executive support for key sales campaigns.
COMPLIANCE & ETHICS
Ensure compliance with the Thales Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct, and associated anti-corruption instructions within the framework of the assigned mission
PROMOTE THALES’ VISIBILITY AND REPUTATION
Through relevant communication with country senior stakeholders, enhance Thales’ visibility and strengthen the perception and reputation of Thales.
MAINTAIN CLOSE INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS
Build and maintain close relationships with ministries, administrations, cabinet offices, forces, customers, partners etc.
Represent Thales in various trade associations and forums.
Promote policies on behalf of Thales, applying proper levers in the formulation of these policies, up to the level of ministries.
GATHER INTELLIGENCE AND PROVIDE PERSPECTIVES
Contribute to bilateral government discussions, policy initiatives, and strategies.
Assist Thales in understanding country strategic priorities (policies, budgets, etc).
Identify opportunities to accelerate the development of Thales’ business, including strategic partnerships, investment opportunities, and commercial opportunities.
Provide updates on Thales’ main competitors disruptive initiatives in country.
Relations at Work
Reporting line: to Thales country director (most senior Thales executive in country).
Internal and external contacts: Senior Management Country/Zone Management, Senior Overseas Sales Teams, Operations, Finance, etc.

Professional knowledge and experience
15 years’ experience in senior leadership role in national forces or relevant governmental agencies & cabinet offices, or relevant private company.
This position might require the applicant to have [specific nationality] due to government security clearance requirements.
In-depth knowledge of compliance and ethics policies.
Analytical knowledge and experience in presenting complex topics to support decision-making.
Strong communication skills, ability to establish close relationships with internal and external partners.
Relevant recent experience in a public/private institution, a cabinet or a central administration, in the fields of international relations, defence, industry, transport, or economics.
In-depth understanding of the mechanisms for developing legislative and executive policies at national and local level in the country.
