Payroll Administrator

Location: Columbus, OH - Hybrid (on-site during onboarding and initial training period; hybrid schedule flexibility thereafter)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $50,000 - $58,000

Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and service-minded Payroll Administrator to support accurate, timely payroll operations across a diverse employee population. This role plays a critical part in ensuring payroll compliance, supporting union-related reporting, and partnering closely with HR and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll fundamentals, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to manage multiple payroll populations with precision.

Key Responsibilities

Execute biweekly payroll processing for multiple employee groups

Ensure accuracy of pay calculations, deductions, tax withholdings, and benefits

Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related inquiries in a timely, professional manner

Maintain payroll records and generate regular and ad hoc reports

Process union-related payroll deductions and membership reporting

Support compliance with applicable labor agreements and regulatory requirements

Coordinate reporting requirements with internal stakeholders as needed

Provide payroll data and insights to HR and leadership upon request

Assist with audits, reconciliations, and special payroll projects

Collaborate cross-functionally to support broader HR and operational needs

Systems & Tools

Utilize a cloud-based payroll system to manage payroll processing and reporting

Maintain data integrity across payroll and HR systems

Required Qualifications

2–4 years of hands-on payroll administration experience

Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy

Customer-service orientation with the ability to explain payroll concepts clearly to employees

Working knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

Payroll experience in a nonprofit and/or unionized environment

Prior experience using Paycor or similar payroll platforms

Exposure to multi-entity, multi-population payroll processing
