We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated General Manager for our Knox, IN location, in leading our manufacturing facility with passion and precision. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. As a key driver of product development and continuous improvement, the General Manager will foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and operational excellence to deliver outstanding results and support the company's growth objectives.
Overview:
The General Manager has the comprehensive responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements of the Division's business's profit and loss statement. The role includes strategic business planning, overseeing the annual operating plan, and leading Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality functions. The General Manager is also tasked with developing and executing the business plan and leading others to meet or exceed key business performance indicators (KPIs) and net income objectives. Full responsibility for P&L.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision-making to achieve desirable profit-making results while adhering to regulatory and company policies.
Develop and manage the operating plan to meet or exceed business objectives. Formulate strategies and tactics for achieving financial goals, including presenting assumptions and recommending objectives. Make sound business projections, assess budgetary impacts, and make necessary adjustments.
Establish pricing strategies to maximize operating income. Analyze cost drivers to determine the selling price and apply a deep understanding of customers, market conditions, and competitors.
Collaborate with operations management to direct production activities, human resources culture and talent management, engineering for successful commercialization of new products and process improvements, quality to comply with ISO and IATF, and supply chain to optimize purchasing, scheduling, shipping strategies and initiatives.
Lead cross-functional projects related to growth opportunities, continuous improvement, and other key business initiatives. Set clear direction for project teams and involve appropriate personnel to implement key initiatives and standard processes effectively.
Manage risk by considering legal implications and exercising sound judgment in contractual agreements related to new business, facilities, and distributors. Consult with Corporate as needed.
Communicate company goals and assist in establishing objectives aligned with business and organizational goals. Provide direction, mentoring, training, and development planning for managers. Identify and retain highly effective personnel and work with direct reports to cultivate capabilities and support career development.
What is needed to be successful in the General Manager role:
Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Business or Finance
10+ yrs experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in high-speed stamping and fineblanking, within automotive industry -
Leading and developing senior managers in Operations, Quality, Engineering, Materials, Human Resources.
Managing capital expenditures, P/L statements, budgeting
Leading continuous improvement efforts
Having working with PLEX ERP system
Managed within an Union environment
