The Sr. Project Specialist is responsible for supporting project planning, scheduling, and execution tracking across high revenue generating projects. The role ensures that project timelines are developed, maintained, and monitored effectively, providing visibility on progress, risks, and delays to support successful project delivery.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategic Responsibilities:
Support the development and standardization of project planning and scheduling practices
Contribute to improving project tracking, reporting, and scheduling methodologies
Provide schedule-based insights to support project planning and decision-making
Ensure alignment of scheduling activities with project objectives and organizational standards
Operational Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in coordination with project managers and stakeholders
Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify delays or deviations
Perform schedule analysis, including critical path identification and impact assessment
Support project planning activities, including resource loading and sequencing of tasks
Prepare and maintain progress reports, schedule updates, and performance dashboards
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, logistics, etc.) to ensure accurate schedule inputs
Support risk identification related to schedule delays and proposed mitigation actions
Assist in changing management processes by assessing schedule impacts of variations
Ensure proper documentation, version control, and tracking of project schedules
People Management:
Coordinate with project team members to ensure timely updates and accurate reporting
Provide guidance to junior project coordinators or planners, where applicable
Support collaboration across departments to maintain alignment with project timelines
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Technical Competencies:
Strong understanding of project scheduling principles and methodologies
Experience with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
Knowledge of project lifecycle and execution processes
Ability to perform schedule analysis (e.g., critical path, delays, dependencies)
Familiarity with project reporting and performance tracking
Basic understanding of cost and project controls is an advantage
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Project management
PMP or similar project management certifications
Preferred Experience:
10 Years experience in project coordination, planning, scheduling roles in high revenue generating projects.
