Position Overview

AKIVA is seeking Data Analysts to support a multi-year public-sector data modernization program. In this role you will coordinate the inventory and profiling of source data, partner with business and technical stakeholders to capture requirements, develop data models and design artifacts, and produce the documentation, reports, and dashboards that guide conversion and downstream analytics. You will work alongside ETL developers, conversion specialists, and the client business community to ensure that migrated and modernized data supports operational and analytical needs. AKIVA-provided AI-assisted data-profiling, documentation, and reporting tools may be used to accelerate delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the identification and inventory of data sources across legacy systems, third parties, and operational platforms

Perform data profiling and discovery distributions, completeness, uniqueness, referential integrity, and anomaly detection

Capture and document business requirements, business rules, data-quality rules, and reporting needs

Develop and maintain data models and data-design artifacts logical models, physical models, and entity-relationship diagrams

Produce documentation data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, business glossaries, and requirements artifacts

Design and build reports and dashboards that support operational users, program managers, and executive leadership

Partner with ETL developers and data conversion specialists to translate requirements into build-ready specifications

Support user-acceptance testing by defining test data, expected outcomes, and validation criteria

Collaborate with client stakeholders to resolve data-quality issues and clarify business rules

Participate in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field or equivalent experience

2+ years of data migration experience that includes data cleaning and the production of reports and dashboards

2+ years of SQL experience working with relational databases

Strong requirements-elicitation, analytical, and documentation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders

Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, profiling, or automation

Hands-on experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent visualization platforms

Experience on full-scale data migrations from legacy systems to cloud, ERP, or CRM platforms

Prior experience embedded on a development or modernization team as the dedicated data analyst

Experience working on Agile / Scrum delivery teams

Experience supporting public-sector data modernization initiatives

Familiarity with AI-assisted data-profiling, documentation, and reporting tools
