Project Manager Construction

Job Description

The Project Manager has the overall responsibility for highway construction projects in an assigned area and/or division. The project manager will provide input in preparing job bids and may be asked to assist with estimating. The project manager is responsible for jobs having the appropriate resources (crews, materials, equipment, subcontractors, etc) as required to safely complete each project on schedule and within budget, while meeting or exceeding the project’s specifications and plan requirements. The project manager shall serve as the liaison between the company and the engineer and/or owner’s representative and between the company and all project subcontractors. The project manager is responsible for coordinating with the Area Manager and all Superintendents to track labor and production costs on a daily basis. The project manager will be responsible for preparing and maintaining each project’s schedule. The project manager shall prepare and approve all progress payment requests and payments and shall ensure successful close-out of each project. Working with all other managers and supervisors, the project manager shall be responsible for each project from inception to completion.
