Job Summary:
Set up and operate numeric or computer numeric controlled machine performing laser operations on various materials, including aluminum, mild steel and coated steel. Set machine controls according to programs.
Use of shop mathematics.
Work from blueprints.
Use of micrometers, fixed gauges, scales and calipers.
Periodically clean lens, focus laser beam, and align nozzle tip.
Perform daily checklist on machine including gas pressure.
Assist engineering in developing program settings for different type and thickness of metals.
Make preliminary check on first piece; submit finished operation for inspection approval.
Perform functions to train employees in all the above-mentioned computer numeric laser techniques.
Follow prescribed safety practices including use of safety equipment as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1 to 5 years of experience.
Set up and operate: Select lenses, load programs, and calculate machine specifications
Cut materials: Use a laser beam to cut, bend, punch, or bore through materials like plastic, wood, rubber, metal, and more
Maintain and repair: Check equipment regularly, perform maintenance, and assist with repairs
Prepare for shipment: Package and ship parts, and prepare products for shipment
Monitor and reorder: Monitor stock levels for materials and consumables
Inspect and report: Perform dimensional inspections, detect and report defective materials
Communicate: Read work orders and communicate verbally with others
Previous manufacturing experience is a MUST
Ability to frequently lift or move light weight material
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 25-50lbs.
