About the Role:
The Material Handler I plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the warehouse and production environments. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products accurately and in a timely manner to support operational needs. The role requires close collaboration with inventory control and production teams to maintain organized stock levels and minimize delays. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent damage and ensure a safe working environment. Ultimately, the Material Handler I contributes to the overall productivity and success of the supply chain by maintaining smooth material handling processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic math and reading skills to accurately count and document inventory.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and procedures.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role.
Forklift operator certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
Store materials in designated locations following organizational and safety guidelines.
Pick and prepare materials for production or shipment according to work orders.
Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and documentation.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Skills:
The required skills such as basic math, reading, and physical stamina are essential for accurately handling and documenting materials while maintaining safety standards. Preferred skills like forklift operation and computer literacy enhance daily efficiency by enabling the candidate to move materials quickly and keep precise inventory records. Organizational skills help in maintaining a clean and orderly workspace, which reduces errors and improves workflow.
