POSITION:
Career Preparation Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree or higher, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Chauffeur's License or the ability to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to work with students of varying ability levels
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist students in developing skills in applying for, interviewing, maintaining, and quitting a job appropriately.
- Introduce students to work site and staff.
- Learn essential job tasks of the position to demonstrate to the student.
- Complete talk analysis noting sequence and timing requirements of student's job.
- Utilize appropriate techniques such as chaining, sequencing, modeling or cueing to teach job tasks.
- Demonstrate appropriate social interaction and integration with fellow employees and management. Encourage similar action by the student.
- Identify support needs of student's for successful training
- Determine satisfaction of both employers and students.
- Seek constructive feedback from student's supervisor in assessing student's training/employment status.
- Provide positive daily feedback to students.
- Report all aspects of student's training status and keep records as prescribed by supervisor.
- Complete both written and verbal assessments on student's performance and keep records as prescribed by supervisor.
- Arrange work-related transportation for students as needed.
- Accommodate alternating job site locations and fluctuating work schedule.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student information.
- Teach self-advocacy on job site to students on hours, wages, and benefits opportunity.
