Role Summary

Our client, a higher education institution offering accredited nursing programs, is seeking an experienced Campus Dean to lead and oversee its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall supervision, development, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all nursing program activities. The Campus Dean serves as the academic, operational, and regulatory leader for the program, ensuring compliance with state boards, accreditation standards, and institutional goals while supporting student success and faculty excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Operations

Provide overall leadership and management of the BSN program, including planning, development, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

Oversee program budget, staffing, faculty recruitment, hiring, orientation, and performance management.

Develop, implement, and update program policies, procedures, and handbooks for faculty and students.

Monitor quality of instruction and participate in faculty and program review, evaluation, and strategic planning.

Participate in conflict resolution involving faculty and students, as needed.

Curriculum & Academic Oversight

Lead curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure alignment with program objectives and regulatory standards.

Ensure students are appropriately oriented to skills labs and clinical facilities prior to clinical rotations.

Advise students and provide academic support, degree planning, and guidance throughout the program.

Oversee student admissions processes, orientation, appeals, grievances, graduation readiness, and licensure eligibility.

Monitor and report student performance metrics, including program completion, licensure exam outcomes, and job placement rates.

Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure program compliance with state Board of Nursing rules, regulations, site visits, and reporting requirements.

Prepare and submit required reports, self-studies, proposals, surveys, and documentation for state and regulatory bodies.

Maintain accurate faculty and student records in collaboration with Human Resources and administrative departments.

Conduct and document Nursing Advisory Committee meetings and maintain meeting minutes.

Clinical Partnerships & Community Engagement

Develop, initiate, and maintain educational partnerships and contracts with clinical sites.

Serve as liaison between the program, clinical partners, community organizations, and the institution.

Conduct or delegate clinical site evaluations to assess appropriateness, safety, staffing, and alignment with course objectives.

Coordinate clinical rotations, including student placements, faculty assignments, schedules, and required approvals.

Ensure completion and submission of required clinical approval documentation prior to rotations.

Collect and analyze evaluations from students, faculty, and clinical partners following each rotation and provide summary reports to senior academic leadership.

Collaboration & Institutional Engagement

Represent nursing program interests across institutional departments, including counseling, registration, and financial aid.

Participate in professional nursing and academic associations.

Assist in identifying and securing external resources to support program growth and quality.

Advocate for and promote the nursing programs within the community.

Required Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) completed.

Minimum of two (2) years in a similar leadership role managing a BSN nursing program.

Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with coursework in nursing, education, or administration.

At least two (2) years of teaching experience in pre-licensure or post-licensure nursing programs.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care (or equivalent as permitted by the Board).

Demonstrated leadership experience in supervision, planning, budgeting, and program administration.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and external institutions.

Leadership style emphasizing collaboration, teamwork, and consensus-building.

Proficiency with computer-based academic and administrative systems.

Licensure

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the campus is located is preferred; licensure will be required within a defined timeframe if not already held.

Compensation & Benefits

Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
