SENIOR LITIGATION ASSOCIATE (Hybrid)

Morrison Mahoney LLP is excited to add a Senior Litigation Associate to its New Jersey litigation team. With a strong regional presence, our firm offers a supportive environment where attorneys are trusted to take ownership of their cases and collaborate with experienced partners.

We're seeking an associate with 7-10 years of civil litigation experience who is ready to step into a role with real responsibility, meaningful mentorship, and the opportunity to grow within the firm. You'll work on a diverse range of complex civil litigation matters in practice areas such as general liability, construction litigation, employment and labor, and workers compensation.

A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney

As a Senior Litigation Associate at Morrison Mahoney LLP, your role is dynamic and engaging, offering a perfect mix of independent responsibilities and collaborative teamwork. You will manage your own caseload from inception to resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines. Your days will be enriched by preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials, granting you invaluable courtroom experience. Collaboration is crucial in this role, where you'll engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies. Clear and regular communication with clients will be essential, as you provide them with updates and interim status reports on their cases.

Additionally, you'll conduct in-depth legal research, preparing memoranda to bolster case strategies, while working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management. This multifaceted position promises a fulfilling career path in the legal field.

What Matters Most

To be considered, a qualified candidate should have the ability to handle cases from inception through resolution. This includes (but may not be limited to):

A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the New Jersey State Bar, are essential prerequisites.

You should possess at least four (7) years of prior civil litigation experience and experience in both New Jersey state and federal courts.

Experience taking and defending depositions.

Filing dispositive motions in Superior Court.

Prior ADR experience handling arbitrations and mediations.

Ability to prepare comprehensive status reports for insurers.

You should be a self-starter with strong advocacy skills. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.

Taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions will also be part of your role, making attention to detail and effective communication are key attributes for success in this position.
