The RD ensures compliance with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) policies, Title 15 regulations, and evidence-based nutrition standards while promoting overall wellness in a correctional healthcare setting.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssess nutritional needs of patients, including those with chronic medical conditions and special diet requirementsDevelop, implement, and monitor therapeutic and medically prescribed dietsProvide individualized and group nutrition education and counseling as clinically indicatedEnsure menus meet nutritional adequacy, food safety, and regulatory standardsCollaborate with medical, nursing, mental health, and food service staff to support patient careDocument nutrition assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the health recordMonitor food service operations for compliance with sanitation and safety requirements QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related fieldCurrent Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credentialValid California licensure, if requiredAbility to work effectively within a secure correctional healthcare environment Nightingale's List Job ID #ZR_214_JOBT.
