About the job Based in the Washington DC office within the IT Applications Management team, the Salesforce Engineering Manager leads delivery of business-critical development, maintenance, and support for the Schools Office.

The role manages internal and external teams, ensuring effective delivery of IT services aligned with business needs, using Agile methodologies.

It serves as the primary IT point of contact for assigned workstreams, coordinating globally distributed teams and third-party vendors.

The role is accountable for planning, performance, delivery, and reporting of all IT activities, while ensuring appropriate support, operations, and vendor management frameworks are in place.

Key Responsibilities 1.

Accountable for the management of software development by managing, planning, co-ordinating and tracking all IT delivery of change requests, projects, and work streams within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 2.

Management of software development teams (both internal and external), including line management and involvement of scrum ceremonies, to ensure quality software is delivered to time and budget.

3.

Co-coordinate with product managers, business stakeholders and IT support teams to ensure operational readiness for transitioning projects to business as usual.

This may include retaining management of some support activities within an existing DevOps team.

4.

Preparation and coordination of release activities, including risk management, communications and process improvements.

Note that releases and other activities will require occasional weekend working.

5.

Investigate, assess, and/or select existing and new suppliers by using the agreed requirement s and internal/procurement guidelines, including the monitoring of SLAs.

Manage, coach and appraise staff and accountable for an optimal qualitative and quantitative staffing of the unit, in line with the year plan and HR guidelines Job Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience * Extensive experience in Salesforce Implementation and Configuration * Have at least Salesforce Developer Level-1 certification (level-2 is highly preferred) * Experience with DevOps tools like Copado or Florum is required * Experience managing development teams from both a project and a support perspective.
