Summary:

The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to support concrete construction activities including site preparation, grading, excavation, forming, pouring, and finishing tasks. This role requires strong working knowledge of concrete processes and the ability to work effectively with construction crews to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, backhoes, loaders, excavators, and forklifts to support concrete work.

Prepare job sites by grading, leveling, trenching, and compacting surfaces.

Assist with concrete form setup, reinforcement placement, and site layout as needed.

Support concrete pouring, spreading, vibrating, and finishing activities.

Inspect and maintain equipment daily; report mechanical issues promptly.

Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Read and understand site plans, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors.

Work with site crews to ensure efficient workflow and quality results.

Perform general labor duties related to concrete construction when required.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating heavy equipment in concrete or construction environments.

Working knowledge of concrete placement, curing, and finishing processes.

Ability to operate multiple types of equipment safely and efficiently.

Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required (optional line).

Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions.

Strong attention to safety and equipment care.

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with laser grading or GPS-guided equipment.

Knowledge of site layout, forming systems, and concrete reinforcement.

OSHA certifications or equipment operation training.

Work Environment:

Outdoor construction job sites with varying weather conditions.

Frequent standing, bending, climbing, and lifting.

Use of heavy machinery and power tools.
