Position Purpose: - The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes.
Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Decatur, IL
Duration: 12 Months (High possibility of extension)
Job Responsibilities:
Must have a background supporting for root cause investigation of field issues, design of solutions, release and implementation of solutions.
Must have solid mechanical aptitude, must have experience with new product concepts, design development, and implementation.
Must have experience in CREO modeling and drawings for designs;
Must have solid FMEA, APQP and PPAP support.
Knowledge of rotating component design; someone with drivetrain design would be the best fit, but is not required (specifically designing axles - differentials and/or braking systems).
There will be a high volume of hands-on work in this role; must have exceptional communication skills because this group has a level of support and collaboration.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 6-8 years experience required.
