Job Title
Associate Director, Athletic Compliance and Academic Services
Essential Job Functions
Coordinates, conducts and maintains a comprehensive recruiting monitoring system
Reviews and approves all coach reimbursement requests and financial documents from the business office
Researches, prepares and presents rules interpretations for coaches, staff, student-athletes and the general public
Assists with rules education for coaches, staff, student-athletes, parents, university staff, boosters and the general public
Coordinates academic services for student-athletes
Monitors class schedules, grades and student-athlete academic progress toward degree
Works with student-athletes, coaches and the Office of Student Records on all add/drop requests
Maintains accurate and complete student-athlete and department files, including a Compliance manual
Monitors and manages continuing eligibility/satisfactory progress in regard to academic compliance with University, SWAC and NCAA rules
Provides sports supervision for assigned sports
Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications
Master's degree in student services, counseling, education, social work or related field
Two (2) years' experience in NCAA Division I Athletic Compliance
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of relevant higher education laws, including FERPA, Title IX, and Clery Act
Knowledge of NCAA Bylaws, especially Bylaws 13, 14, 15, and 17
Knowledge of the retention process
Proficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in social media as communication tool
Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal
Excellent teaching, organizational and time management skills
Excellent supervisory skills
Ability to work independently, with limited supervision
Ability to make decisions-based on factual evidence and observation
Ability to use multiple techniques to help students develop study, learning and testing skills
Ability to work with students who are dealing with various learning difficulties
Ability to intervene when students fall behind their peers academically
Ability to prioritize assignments
Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
