Job Description
Job summary: OTR driver responsible for safely transporting freight across regional routes. Ensure timely delivery, compliance with federal and company regulations, and maintain proper documentation and vehicle condition.
Key responsibilities:
Operate a tractor-trailer on long-distance routes, driving up to legal limits while following hours-of-service rules.
Freight is no-touch.
inspect loads for proper weight distribution and securement.
Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections; report and document vehicle defects or maintenance needs.
Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other required paperwork or electronic records.
Communicate with dispatch, shippers, receivers, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
Adhere to DOT, FMCSA, state, and company safety, hours-of-service, and hazardous materials (if applicable) regulations.
Manage route planning, fuel stops, and compliance with weigh stations and permits.
Provide professional customer service at pickup and delivery locations.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Minimum [1] years OTR driving experience.
Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background checks.
Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS, and basic truck electronics.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform basic cargo securement tasks.
Good communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Sleep/rest in sleeper berth; adherence to rest periods required by law.
