Job Summary:
As a Registered Vascular Technologist, you will perform non-invasive vascular studies to assist in the diagnosis and management of vascular conditions. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care and safety. Your expertise in vascular imaging will play a crucial role in identifying vascular diseases and guiding treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive non-invasive vascular examinations, including Doppler ultrasound studies, arterial and venous evaluations, and carotid duplex imaging.
- Utilize ultrasound equipment effectively and maintain quality control to ensure optimal image quality and accurate diagnostic results.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss test results and assist in formulating treatment plans based on findings.
- Review patient medical histories and prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering any questions.
- Maintain accurate records of examinations and patient data in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols during procedures.
- Stay updated with advancements in vascular technology and participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Provide patient-centered care that emphasizes empathy, respect, and concern for patient well-being.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or an equivalent organization.
- A relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree in diagnostic medical sonography or vascular technology,
- Previous experience in vascular ultrasound and non-invasive testing is preferred.
- Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, pathology, and hemodynamics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software applications.
