Senior python developer

Location:

McLean VA 22102 (Onsite Mon - Fri)

Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced developer to join our team for a 7-month contract with a possible extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python and front-end technologies, with a focus on web application development. This role involves working within the financial modeling and research area to design and support systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Practical experience with Python, front-end technologies, React, JavaScript, and web application development.

3-7 years of relevant experience.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field with 2 years of experience in analytics software applications, OR a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative finance, Python web technologies (e.g., Flask, Dash), and Python data processing technologies (e.g., Pandas, Numpy).

Solid understanding of web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), databases, and SQL.

Experience with Linux/Unix OS.

Prior work experience at client or in Financial /Banking industry. Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Experience with JavaScript frameworks: jQuery, datatable, React.

Front-end design experience, including CSS and Tailwind.

Familiarity with cloud technology, Google Kubeflow, and AWS.

Experience in mortgage or GSE industries.

Knowledge of R, Java, C, C++, SAS. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Design, develop, and support systems within the financial modeling and research area.

Develop new code and review existing code changes to ensure adherence to standard technology development practices.

Assist in the operational execution of software solutions for monitoring and controlling market and credit risks.

Modify and/or maintain applications; demonstrate knowledge of development tools and languages.

Collaborate with other areas of financial research and engineering to define system application requirements. Company Benefits & Culture
