Job Title: Machine Operator – Bending and Laser Equipment

Job Description

This role operates in a very fast-paced, high-volume production environment, where you will set up, adjust, and operate bending and/or laser machines to produce accurate sheet metal and tube components. You will follow layouts and templates, perform measurements and inspections, and complete required documentation to ensure that all parts meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate bending machines and/or laser machines in a fast-paced production environment.

Follow layouts, templates, blueprints, and process sheets to set up machines and produce parts to specification.

Check that bent and cut parts are within tolerance using appropriate measurement and inspection tools such as tape measures, calipers, and protractors.

Identify, segregate, and remove parts that do not meet specifications, and make necessary machine adjustments to correct issues.

Perform first article inspections as needed to validate machine setup and part accuracy.

Complete and accurately document all required production, quality, and process paperwork.

Operate material handling equipment such as hoists, cart caddies, and manual pallet jacks to move materials and finished parts.

Work independently while collaborating with the production team to meet daily output, quality, and safety goals.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety procedures and guidelines.

Lift, bend, twist, and handle materials throughout the shift, consistently lifting up to 50 pounds.

Essential Skills

Minimum six months of metal tube bending experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Hands-on knowledge of bending equipment with the ability to adjust machines and troubleshoot basic issues as needed.

Ability to operate and read a tape measure, calipers, and protractors accurately.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, templates, and process sheets.

Ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding instructions and documentation.

Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a fast-paced team environment.

Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent bending and twisting throughout the workday.

Stable work history that demonstrates reliability and commitment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience operating sheet metal and tube bending machinery in a high-volume production setting.

Previous experience with laser machine operation in a manufacturing environment.

Strong attention to detail and quality, with a focus on maintaining tight tolerances.

Solid problem-solving skills to identify and correct machine or process issues quickly.

Comfort using hoists, cart caddies, and manual pallet jacks for material handling.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that operates at a fast pace and focuses on high-volume production. The facility is not air conditioned and can become hot, especially during warmer months, so you should be comfortable working in warm conditions. The role is physically demanding and requires bending, twisting, and lifting throughout the entire shift, including consistently lifting up to 50 pounds. You will regularly use and be around industrial equipment such as bending machines, laser machines, hoists, cart caddies, and manual pallet jacks, and you will work on the production floor following all applicable safety procedures and guidelines.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $23.25/hr.
