Summary:

The Data Center Facilities Engineer, Senior Advisor acts independently as enterprise-level technical authority for data center facilities, providing strategic oversight and expert guidance for critical infrastructure and long-range capacity planning. This role operates with high autonomy to ensure resiliency, compliance, and fiscal optimization of data center environments while aligning facilities strategy with future growth and organizational objectives. By leveraging expert judgment and cross-functional influence, the Senior Advisor serves as a trusted partner to executive leadership and a primary mentor for technical teams, driving operational excellence across the global portfolio.

Essential Functions:

• Serves as the primary technical authority and senior advisor to leadership on data center strategy, infrastructure planning, and long-range capital/capacity forecasting.

• Leads the planning, design, and optimization of enterprise facilities to ensure scalability, resiliency, and cost-efficiency while aligning with enterprise-wide technology and security objectives.

• Establishes and governs global standards, performance metrics (KPIs), and safety policies for facility operations, maintenance, and building code compliance.

• Ensures all systems and processes meet or exceed regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements, acts as the lead partner for internal and external audits.

• Partners with Finance/Procurement to develop and manage complex operating and capital budgets (OpEx/CapEx), performing deep-dive analysis on total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle equipment replacement.

• Evaluates financial reports and operational data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and recommend corrective actions for budget variances or optimization opportunities.

• Acts as the highest-level authority during critical incidents and emergencies; provides on-call advisory support and leads cross-functional crisis communication to executive leadership.

• Orchestrates post-incident reviews and root cause analysis (RCA) to drive corrective actions and integrate "lessons learned" back into operational standards.

• Oversees the performance of internal teams and external providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations are strictly met.

• Influences cross-functional partners without direct authority to ensure facilities' priorities are synchronized with business continuity and enterprise goals.

• Mentors and coaches peers to strengthen technical depth, operational readiness, and succession planning within the facilities organization.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent required. Relevant trade school education and/or certification preferred.

• Minimum of thirteen years of experience in related field; or An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• Construction management or facilities management experience preferred.

Licensing/Certifications:

• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

• A Subject Matter Expert (SME) in their area of specialization. Works on highly complex and visible projects that impact operational success. Addresses future concepts, products, or technologies and exercises expert judgment and knowledge in determining objectives; selects methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain solutions for critical assignments.

• Has in-depth knowledge of Data Center infrastructure, including HVAC, Power (UPS/Generators), Electrical, Fire Life Safety, Building Automation, and Plumbing.

• Expert at performing root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting complex, unique issues where data requires extensive analysis.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Bluebeam to design efficient layouts for facility and data center environments.

• Maintains thorough understanding of regulatory and audit environments.

• Ability to define functional requirements, manage aggressive deadlines, and lead multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and facilitating financial review meetings.

• Exercises independent judgment in selecting techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain solutions for critical assignments.

• Clear, professional communication via all channels (phone, email, text) with the ability to lead presentations for diverse groups.

• Remains composed and effective under pressure during emergencies or critical events, including remote management of alarms and projects.

• Serves as a technical lead, mentoring and assisting less experienced peers to drive operational success.

Travel Requirements:

• Some travel may be required.

Working Conditions:
