Minimum Qualifications:
12 months of training or 12 months of experience in locksmithing
3 months of training or 3 months of experience in inventory control

Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.
The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, “Background Investigations for Employment,” outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to the appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment.

Are you a skilled trades professional looking for a dynamic, statewide role? Join DODD as a Roving Locksmith, supporting 8 Developmental Centers across Ohio and helping ensure safe, secure environments for individuals and staff.
What You’ll Do
Install, repair, & maintain locks, door hardware, & access control systems
Perform key cutting, re-keying, & master key system management
Troubleshoot mechanical & electronic locking systems
Conduct preventative maintenance & facility inspections
Respond to urgent lockouts, repairs, & security needs
Support facility upgrades, renovations, & security improvements
Maintain key control records, inventory, & compliance documentation
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with mechanical & electronic locking systems
Knowledge of master key systems & access control processes
Ability to troubleshoot, repair, & maintain security hardware
Strong organizational & recordkeeping skills
Ability to work independently across multiple locations
Valid driver’s license & ability to travel statewide
Work Schedule
4-day work week (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Schedule may vary based on facility needs
Flexibility required for travel & operational demands
Working Conditions
This is a statewide roving position supporting all 8 DODD Developmental Centers:
Frequent statewide travel to assigned facilities is required
Exposure to energized electrical equipment
Indoor & outdoor work environments
Overtime, call-back, or emergency response may be required
