Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a data-driven and detail-oriented Program Analyst to support strategic planning, space management, and long-term project execution across healthcare facilities serving our nation’s Veterans.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data analytics, project planning, and strategic decision-making.

Position Overview The Program Analyst supports the execution of data-focused projects under the direction of the Program Manager.

You will analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights that drive facility planning and operational decisions.

This role also contributes to long-range planning by transforming space and operational requirements into actionable project roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & ReportingAnalyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and strategic insightsDevelop charts, dashboards, and visual presentations to support decision-makingPerform database research (including VA systems) to support patient projections and planningBuild and maintain data models, reports, and analytical tools Space Planning & Strategic SupportTranslate space and facility requirements into actionable project plans (short- and long-term)Support 15-year planning initiatives for facility growth and optimizationAssist with site surveys to assess space utilization, function, and ownership across campusSupport planning and execution of space moves due to construction, renovations, or operational needs Collaboration & CommunicationAttend Space Management Team (SMT) meetings and working groups with hospital servicesCollaborate with Informatics and cross-functional teams to gather and validate dataCommunicate technical findings clearly to stakeholders, including senior leadership and non-technical audiencesDevelop training materials, organizational charts, and visual aids to support program initiatives Compliance & Program SupportReview assessments and recommendations for compliance with federal regulations and standardsSupport program documentation, reporting, and project trackingEnsure accuracy and integrity of data used in planning and decision-making Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree required2+ years of experience in data analytics1+ year of experience in project managementStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Technical SkillsExperience with:SQL, R, or SASData modeling, data mining, and database managementStatistical analysis and reportingProficiency in spreadsheet tools (Excel) and data visualizationFamiliarity with:GIS tools such as ArcGIS (preferred)Design tools such as AutoCAD or Bluebeam (a plus) Ideal CandidateAble to translate complex data into clear, actionable insightsStrong communicator who can present technical information to diverse audiencesOrganized and detail-oriented with strong project coordination skillsComfortable working in a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare environment Why Join the VA?Contribute to large-scale healthcare planning that directly impacts VeteransWork on strategic, data-driven initiatives with long-term impactStable federal career with competitive GS pay and benefitsCollaborative, multidisciplinary teams across engineering, planning, and clinical operationsOpportunities for growth in program management and analytics LocationLos Angeles, CA (Federal facility-based role)
