Schedule: Full-time
Serves as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for the Department and implements all aspects of ADA Titles I and II for the Department and for the public:
· Meets with team members with disabilities and engages in the interactive process.
· Liaises with team members, facilities management, DAS building management, and the Office of Accessibility and Opportunity at DAS regarding ADA accommodations.
· Manages the ADA email inbox for the employee and public requests and works with Department offices to address customer and stakeholders with disabilities accommodations.
· Facilitates the ADA committee including presenting Reasonable Accommodation requests, making recommendations, collecting confidentiality agreements, and communicating decisions.
· Writes, recommends, and implements changes to policies related to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
· Develops training materials and presents trainings to implement policies related to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Serves as management level employee & provides support on matters concerning labor relations:
· Assists manager in working with employees, management, and union representatives to resolve labor issues;
· Ensures compliance with OCSEA union contract;
· Assists in planning and presents training on OCSEA union contract and any significant updates;
· Drafts agency work rules, policies and procedures;
· Prepares and provides technical assistance to management/supervisory personnel;
· Responds to inquiries from government officials, employees, general public and union officials;
· Assists manager in facilitating all aspects of pre-disciplinary meeting and grievance processes and/or represents agency at grievance hearings (i.e., Step 2, mediation, WOOC, ADR, arbitration);
· Prepares and maintains human resources records documenting processes and outcomes;
· Prepares reports and correspondence;
· Advises and counsels employees and management on human resources practices.
Completes other HR duties as assigned. This may include:
· Prepares and maintains reports and records;
· Participates in departmental committees;
· Attends and coordinates departmental meetings or other events;
· Assists with correspondence for other areas within Human Resources;
· Receives training on an ongoing basis in assigned areas.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 mos. exp. as licensed attorney; 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development.
