Job Overview: As a Seasonal Grain Elevator Scale Helper, you will assist in the daily operations of our grain elevator, focusing on the scale and weighing processes. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and efficient handling of grain deliveries and shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

Weighing and Recording: Accurately weigh incoming and outgoing loads of grain using the scale system, and maintain detailed records of transactions.

Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service to farmers and truck drivers, including assisting with scale operations and answering questions.

Data Entry: Enter weight data and other relevant information into the company’s inventory and accounting systems.

Inspection and Maintenance: Inspect the scale and associated equipment for proper functioning, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Additional Duties: Assist with other tasks related to grain handling and elevator operations as needed, including general maintenance and cleanup.

Qualifications

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or in an agricultural setting is preferred but not required.

Skills: Basic math skills and proficiency with computers or data entry systems.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in recording and reporting data.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
