Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Refrigeration Technician, located in Astoria, OR. The Refrigeration Technician will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration, HVAC, and other systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment. The technician will work to maintain a safe and efficient work environment, complying with all safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

· Oversee and support refrigeration, electrical, and HVAC systems, including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting, and repairs (e.g., compressors, condensers, fans, heating and cooling equipment, contactors, motors, microprocessors, and variable frequency drives).

· Execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks within established timelines (e.g., oil analysis, filter changes, calibration of sensors and transducers, and compressor alignment checks/adjustments).

· Ensure proper leak detection system operation; conduct required inspections and reporting; evaluate and implement energy management strategies.

· Maintain product integrity through temperature monitoring and control; evaluate equipment condition and report findings.

· Communicate clearly with management; provide daily updates on system operation and maintenance activities to management and maintenance teams.

· Maintain housekeeping and cleanup of refrigeration machine rooms, refrigeration maintenance areas, and project areas daily.

· Interpret and understand plans and specifications, schematics, and operating and maintenance manuals for systems being managed.

· Operate power tools, hand tools, and other specialized electrical equipment.

· Install, repair, and service specialized electrical equipment and machinery as needed.

· Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.

· Maintain a written to-do list of assigned and self-generated tasks.

· Work safely at all times and take prompt action to correct or report safety hazards.

· Support and help maintain the Process Safety Management (PSM) program.

· Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the facility and organization are fully supported and successful.
