Lead Purchasing Agent

The incumbent is a member of Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) within the Prosthetic Service Line under the VISN.

Incumbents are assigned to the Medical Center.

All incumbents have an active outpatient treatment program and inventory responsibly.

* Providing direct lead to employees performing a variety of GS-06 purchasing duties supporting the Columbus VA Medical Center and surrounding Community Based Outpatient Clinics.

* This responsibility includes supporting the development of performance standards, assisting with writing position descriptions, providing 2 Columbus PD # 93121-0 feedback on work performance and reporting to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employees.

* Act independently in determining workload distribution for the team of Prosthetics Audiology Speech Pathology to ensure all purchasing is accomplished in a timely manner.

* Act as Supervisory Prosthetic Representative in the event the Prosthetic Representative is not present.

* Performs technical level purchasing support adhering to the FAR, VAAR, VHA, and Prosthetics Directives and Handbooks, VISN policy and station memorandums to acquire patient specific medical equipment, supplies and services.

* Rentals to meet the outpatient medical needs of the services, which include all outpatient durable medical equipment and supplies, rehabilitation equipment, mobility and daily living aids, neuro-sensory, home oxygen, inpatient surgical implants and supplies.

* Submits Acquisition Plans and Procurement Packages for stock and Veteran specific needs to the Network Contracting Office and uploads quotes, bids, invoices, consults, and other important documents to the Electronic Contract Management System (eCMS). Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
