Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) in WALLER, TX
Job Summary
The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports daily operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment (oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, inspections, etc.)
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
Repair or replace brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical components
Conduct DOT and safety inspections and maintain compliance records
Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed
Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
Use diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals effectively
Ensure shop tools and work areas are kept clean and safe
Communicate repair needs and timelines with supervisors or fleet managers
Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
Other duties as required
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
2+ years of experience in fleet, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment maintenance
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs
Ability to read repair manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
Valid driver's license (CDL a plus, if applicable)
ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in varying weather conditions
Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely
Work Environment
Shop and outdoor work environments
Exposure to noise, grease, chemicals, and moving equipment
Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm (work shift flexibility)
May require occasional on-call or weekend work
Agriculture Exemption for overtime (No OT paid)
