Senior SQL Developer

A leading financial institution in Vienna, VA is seeking a Senior SQL Developer for a hybrid role focusing on data querying and performance optimization.

About the Opportunity:

Shift: Day

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Hours: Standard business hours

Setting: Hybrid (3 days onsite) Responsibilities:

Designing and optimizing complex SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions

Developing and maintaining database structures, indexes, and performance tuning strategies

Translating business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa

Partnering with non-technical stakeholders to communicate data insights and solutions

Supporting reporting and dashboard development initiatives

Performing other duties, as needed Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in SQL Development

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Advanced SQL skills (joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, indexing)

Strong understanding of Database Performance tuning and optimization

Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay systems and processes

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work collaboratively across teams Desired Qualifications:

Strong experience with SQL Server environments

Experience with Coding languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript

Experience with Power BI or other Dashboard/Reporting tools

Exposure to Enterprise Financial or Procurement systems

Strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
