Mainframe DB2 Developer

Role Name: Mainframe DB2 Developer

Location: Columbus, OH (100% Onsite from Day 1)

Experience: 10+ Years

Roles & Responsibilities:

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.

Perform DB2 application development including SQL coding, stored procedures, and database interactions.

Optimize, tune, and debug complex mainframe applications for performance and reliability.

Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable mainframe solutions.

Support production cycles, resolve incidents, perform impact analysis, and root cause analysis.

Work closely with system analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders for end-to-end delivery.

Develop batch and online programs using Enterprise COBOL on System Z.

Create and maintain JCL scripts to manage batch processes.

Participate in code reviews, testing cycles, and deployment activities.

Ensure compliance with coding standards, security requirements, and documentation best practices. Competencies:

System Z - Enterprise COBOL

Strong SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning

Debugging tools and mainframe utilities (File-Aid, Abend-Aid, etc.)

Experience with batch and online processing Must-Have Qualifications:

10+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development

Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2

Proven experience in System Z - Enterprise COBOL

Ability to work 100% onsite from Day 1 in Columbus, OH

Experience supporting large-scale mainframe applications
