Azure Data Platform Architect

Job Summary:

The Azure Data Platform Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and ADLS Gen2. The architect will lead infrastructure automation using Terraform, ensure robust networking and security design, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, cost-efficient, and compliant Azure data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and architect Azure data platforms using ADF, Databricks, Synapse (Serverless/Dedicated), ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB

Define data ingestion, transformation, and serving patterns for batch and near real-time workloads

Architect scalable and high-performance solutions for large-volume data processing

Design and implement Azure infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, Hybrid) for data platforms

Configure Azure networking (VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Private Endpoints) to ensure secure deployments

Implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and resiliency strategies

Develop and manage Terraform modules for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation

Integrate Terraform deployments with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines

Design and implement data pipelines using Synapse, Data Factory, and Event Hubs

Manage Azure storage solutions including Blob Storage, ADLS Gen2, and Azure SQL

Ensure data governance, compliance, and security best practices

Monitor and optimize performance and cost of Azure infrastructure and data services

Document architecture designs and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders Required Skills & Experience:

Strong hands-on experience as an Azure Data Platform Architect

Deep expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and ADLS Gen2

Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure architecture including networking, security, and HADR

Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code on Azure

Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline implementation

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance

Experience designing batch and near real-time data processing architectures

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Competencies:
