Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join a top financial client's Business Rules Engineering & Strategy team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining rule-based systems that support critical business decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java development, rule authoring, SQL, and Agile methodologies.

This is a long-term contract opportunity with a hybrid work arrangement in St. Louis, Missouri.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java

Create, manage, and optimize business rules using rule authoring tools

Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

Write and optimize SQL queries for data access and reporting needs

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives

Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and architects

Ensure high-quality code through best practices, code reviews, and testing

Support production systems and troubleshoot issues as needed

Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience in Java development

Experience with Rule Authoring and business rule engines

Proficiency in SQL

Experience working in an Agile environment

Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
