The AppDev Project Manager is a leadership role within CCL IT and is responsible for all aspects of technical projects from concept through deployment while ensuring their assigned projects are well managed and that the project goals are delivered via the established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC). This individual ensures that the projects meet or exceed expectations regarding scope, schedule, budget, and quality. This position manages relationships with multiple stakeholders. This individual identifies risks and issues and leads the team to resolution and/or escalation. This position collects, measures, reports, and communicates project status with the project team and IT leadership.

The AppDev PM manages multiple medium dollar, medium risk projects in support of ship and/or shore initiatives. Each project/program team could include up to 20 matrixed resources with a typical budget of up to $1 million. Projects are medium in scope with multiple (internal and external) stakeholders. Projects are typically less complex and may involve multiple application and database technologies, infrastructure platforms (cloud and on-prem), and system interfaces.

Essential Functions:

Project Management Execution and Control: Establishes and manages project scope, objectives, work plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, team members and status reports. This role manages multiple medium dollar, medium risk projects in support of ship and/or shore initiatives simultaneously.

Applies experience in software design and development using C#, Java, .Net or others to deploy new full stack technology for enterprise eCommerce, Finance, HR and Sales applications. Utilizes experience with a broad variety of application solutions including custom development, SAAS, COTS, cloud, and mobile. Utilizes basic knowledge of databases (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL), tools (OBIEE, Hyperion, Tableau, Power BI) and architecture (data lake, MDM). Uses some infrastructure knowledge and experience in virtualization (VMWare, HyperV), cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), OS management (Linux, Wintel, IBM), container implementation (Kubernetes, ECS, Docker), and network configurations (distributed private, public, hybrid cloud) to build correct and complete project plans.

Creates risk analysis and risk mitigation plans. Effectively builds and manages project budgets. Manages people, work, and resources and successfully executes the project plan. Responsible for all levels of communication around project planning and execution. Conducts project reviews, publishes project updates, and manages issues to closure. Understands and applies critical thinking to existing and new application software for integration and migration of enterprise systems.

Project Leadership: Responsible for proactive management in areas such as risks, budget/forecast, dependencies, etc. Works with the team and leadership to document and resolve people, schedule, technical and financial conflicts. Builds effective working relationships while holding team members accountable. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project business sponsors, software development, infrastructure teams, vendors, finance, quality assurance, security and compliance, and Senior IT management. Understands project financials, and business to effectively communicate status and issues to leadership. Uses project management tools such as Daptiv, Project, and Excel to plan and execute projects.

Project Quality: Ensures adherence to Project Management Process, Systems Development Methodology, and quality standards for producing project deliverables. Provides project management, oversight, and analytical guidance to the project team. Ensures business and technical documents are created and meets standards. Applies knowledge of analysis, design, development, and quality control to review and provide feedback on the project deliverables.

Technical / Analytical Leadership: Recommends and acts to direct the analysis and solution of complex problems. Ensures proper procedures are followed. Applies knowledge and experience to lead and assist with problem resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal training and certification in the system development life cycle and project management is preferred. PMP, ITIL, Six Sigma, Scrum Master certification is a plus. Technical certificates such as Microsoft (e. g. Azure DevOps, Power Platform), Oracle, Cisco certification a plus.

Minimum 4 years' experience as a Project Manager in information technology infrastructure and/or application implementations. Background in the Cruise Industry will be considered a plus.

Experience in IT planning and deployment for application and database development, security, release management, infrastructure and/or quality engineering. Experience coordinating and managing change across multiple departments and corporate entities. Experience in estimating and leading the implementation of a variety of technologies such as 1) Windows, Unix, and mainframes 2) application development languages such as .net, C, SQL, JavaScript, Java 3) databases such as Oracle and SQL and tools such as OBIEE, Hyperion, Hadoop, Tableau 4) storage technologies such as Dell Compellent, EMC VNX/Unity/Vmax, or 5) networking devices such as core switches, wireless controller, satellites and/or wireless networks?such Cisco Access Points. Experience with MS 365 (Teams, Yammer, SharePoint) and MS Office Suite of apps including Visio and an enterprise PPM tool such as Daptiv.
