As a precision machining partner trusted with high-risk, high-value work, ZYCI requires disciplined, accurate, and strategically aligned quoting to ensure programs are both competitive and profitable. The Quoting & Estimating Manager plays a central role in evaluating opportunity, risk, and long-term fit—helping guide which work ZYCI pursues and how it is priced.

This is not a transactional quoting role. It is a leadership position that directly impacts execution, customer relationships, and sustained manufacturing success.

The Work You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

Review and analyze RFQs including 3D models, 2D drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements

Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering:

CNC machining (in-house and outsourced)

Raw materials

Finishing and special processes

Inspection, testing, and certifications

Hardware, subcomponents, and assemblies

Estimate machining time, setup time, inspection time, and non-recurring engineering (NRE)

Coordinate and evaluate supplier quotes for materials, outsourced machining, finishing, and testing

Identify and document risks, assumptions, constraints, and major cost drivers for each quote

Maintain accurate quote data, traceability, and documentation using ProShop ERP and SharePoint

Support pricing strategies focused on repeatable, high-value, long-term production programs

Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and executive leadership to align quotes with technical capability and strategic objectives

Ensure consistency, accuracy, and accountability across all estimating activities

Machines, Processes & Software Exposure

While this is not a hands-on machining role, technical fluency is essential. You will work closely with teams supporting:

Machining Capabilities:

Multi-axis CNC milling

Mill-turn and multi-tasking machining

Swiss turning

EDM (wire and drilling)

ERP & Software:

ProShop ERP (preferred)

SharePoint

Engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications

What We're Looking For

Required:

Strong technical understanding of CNC machining processes (mills, lathes, multi-axis)

Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate engineering drawings and GD&T

Experience developing cost estimates in a precision manufacturing environment

Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and ERP systems

Highly organized and capable of managing multiple RFQs simultaneously

Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills

Experience supporting aerospace or defense manufacturing programs

Preferred (Not Required):

Prior experience in a quoting, estimating, or cost analysis leadership role

Familiarity with ProShop ERP

Exposure to complex, tight-tolerance, high-compliance manufacturing environments
