Backend Integration Engineer (Azure, Kafka, Java)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Backend Integration Engineer with strong expertise in event-driven architecture, API development, and cloud-based integration platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microsoft Azure services, Kafka, and distributed system design. This role focuses on building scalable backend services, implementing resilient workflows, and supporting multi-cloud integrations across enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.

Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot for enterprise systems.

Design and maintain REST API contracts for system integrations.

Implement asynchronous workflows, resiliency patterns, and failover strategies.

Work with Azure services including AKS, ARO, API Management, Storage, Data Factory, Functions, and Cosmos DB.

Support multi-cloud architecture strategies involving Azure and GCP.

Develop and optimize database schemas and data models.

Build and maintain ETL pipelines and data integration workflows.

Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to support OMS integrations and marketplace platforms.

Participate in architecture design discussions and contribute to scalable system development. Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of experience in backend engineering and enterprise integrations.

Strong programming expertise in Java and Spring Boot.

Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.

Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.

Knowledge of REST API design and microservices architecture.

Experience with SQL schema design and relational databases such as MySQL.

Familiarity with Cosmos DB modeling and Cassandra database technologies.

Experience using Liquibase for database schema management.

Understanding of distributed systems, resiliency patterns, and asynchronous workflows. Competencies

Familiarity with .NET / ASP.NET applications for OMS UI integrations.
