Job Description
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various cardiac conditions and illnesses.
Essential Functions of the Role:
Observe and record patient behaviors; Collect patient health history
Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests, such as EKG’s or apply and download Holter monitors
Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans
Administer medication, change wound dressings and care for other treatment options
Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate
Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for patients
Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes
Support emergency response as needed
Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results in appropriate EMR or record, also access and obtain records from various hospital EMR
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA.
Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards, if applicable.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Actively works towards positive interdepartmental care coordination to create the most effective patient experience possible.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years working as a Registered Nurse in a clinical practice environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to travel to local offices
Desired Qualifications:
3+ years in a clinical practice environment
Direct experience in Cardiac or Vascular Healthcare
Experience with EMR
Physical Requirements
This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed in typical medical practice.
