Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Multimedia & Graphic Design Specialist to support strategic communications for a federal agency’s Public Affairs Office. This role is ideal for a visual storyteller with strong expertise in photography, videography, and graphic design, capable of producing compelling multimedia content for digital and social media platforms.
The selected candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and government officials to capture, develop, and deliver high-quality visual content that informs and engages the public.
Key Responsibilities
• Capture professional-grade photography at official events, interviews, and onsite locations
• Produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and digital assets
• Plan, storyboard, script, shoot, and edit video content
• Design social media-ready visuals and multimedia content for platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, X, and TikTok
• Create photojournalistic content, motion graphics, and infographics aligned with messaging goals
• Manage end-to-end video production, including filming, editing, and post-production
• Support livestreaming and press event coverage when required
• Ensure all content meets accessibility standards (e.g., captioning, audio descriptions)
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Journalism, or a related field
• 3–5 years of professional experience in photography, videography, graphic design, or multimedia production
• Strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling and multimedia content creation
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom)
• Hands-on experience with professional photography and video equipment
• Strong understanding of composition, design principles, and brand consistency
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Must be eligible to obtain a DOJ Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards
• Experience with livestreaming platforms or podcast production
• Knowledge of motion graphics and animation techniques
• Background in photojournalism, media, or government communications
Experience managing digital asset management systems
