Commodity Price Risk Analyst
Worthington Steel – Columbus, OH (On-site)
This role is based in Columbus, OH and requires full-time onsite presence. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
This role will develop knowledge and business skills in the manufacturing industry while building strong relationships throughout the organization. The successful candidate will assist in the analysis of business processes, data, and requirements, contributing to the development of effective solutions for our organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of business analysis and work closely with experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily/weekly/monthly position rebalance for Worthington Steel’s various commodity positions such as: Steel, Zinc, Scrap, and Diesel
Perform monthly pricing reconciliation between Worthington Steel’s various business units
Develop strategies for trading execution for scrap, diesel, and zinc commodities
Develop reporting to drive accountability; support continuous improvement of processes and reporting
Support annual commodity audits internally and externally
Perform additional Price Risk/Purchasing ad-hoc reporting as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
2–4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, commodities, trading, or a related field
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, reporting)
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with complex data sets to support business analysis
Desired Experience:
Skilled in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Skilled in utilizing complex data sets to build dashboards for business analytics
Working knowledge of assigned commodity items
Demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethic to align with Our Philosophy
Self-starter with good project management skills
Good customer service orientation with ability to establish professional working relationships with internal/external customers and coworkers
Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
