Job Title: Interior Designer Job Description We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer with over 10 years of commercial design experience, ideally specializing in the education sector including both higher education and K-12 markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing creative solutions for diverse environments, participating in dynamic, collaborative teams, and implementing overall design concepts, interior details, and finish palettes through all phases of design.

This individual should be self-motivated, comfortable communicating with clients, and an innovative problem solver.

Will lead design issues and oversee all phases of projects from programming to design development, ensuring design intent during construction documentation and construction administration phases.

Responsibilities + Lead interior design efforts by establishing a clear design narrative and guiding the team from concept through construction.

+ Serve as a client-facing leader by facilitating workshops, presenting concepts, and maintaining strong communication throughout project delivery.

+ Collaborate within a multi-discipline studio to deliver integrated solutions aligned with client goals and context.

+ Translate program requirements into space planning, test fits, and schematic/design development solutions.

+ Select and coordinate interior architectural detailing, materials, and finishes to support design intent and durability.

+ Drive quality and consistency across deliverables, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with the approved design direction.

+ Lead the FF&E scope including furniture plans, specifications, finish schedules, procurement coordination, and installation support.

+ Coordinate with vendors/manufacturers and consult with project teams to maintain budget alignment.

+ Oversee production of interior design documentation and coordinate with consultants to produce complete, coordinated drawing sets.

+ Apply working knowledge of building codes and project constraints; participate in constructability discussions and value engineering.

+ Support or lead QA/QC reviews to uphold firm standards and reduce downstream conflicts.

+ Participate in or lead construction administration activities such as submittal/shop drawing review support, site observations, punch lists, and closeout coordination.

+ Mentor and guide junior designers by delegating tasks, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth.

+ Contribute to staffing/scheduling conversations and help maintain healthy project team workflows and deadlines.

Essential Skills + Interior design + Proficiency in Revit + Proficiency in ArchiCAD + Experience in architecture and concept design + Experience with AutoCAD + Construction administration skills Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field + Ohio architecture license is preferred but not required + 10+ years of interior design experience across various sectors such as K-12, higher education, recreational, corporate, hospitality, retail, health/wellness, religious, or related projects + Proven experience leading projects through multiple phases + Working knowledge of codes, documentation standards, and interdisciplinary coordination Work Environment This role requires working in-office four days a week, with the option for remote work one day per week.

The successful candidate will regularly collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and will have the opportunity to help lead growth in the Columbus market.

An assigned principal mentor will assist in acclimating to the company and their projects Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
