Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and support custom automation systems and machinery. This individual will play a critical role in delivering turnkey solutions, from initial programming and system validation through on-site commissioning and long-term customer support.
This is a hands-on engineering role offering strong project ownership, customer interaction, and exposure to complex automation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop PLC-based control systems for custom automation equipment
Program and configure HMI interfaces for operator interaction and diagnostics
Integrate and program servo systems, cam-driven applications, pneumatic systems, and electrically actuated stations
Support software validation activities and documentation requirements
Execute and assist with DQ, IQ, and OQ protocols in compliance with GMP and GAMP standards
Perform system commissioning, debugging, and field modifications both in-house and at customer facilities
Create, maintain, and update project documentation, technical specifications, and operating manuals
Review and interpret electrical schematics; recommend and implement updates as needed
Collaborate directly with customers to clarify requirements and troubleshoot technical issues
Participate in design reviews, installations, and service support activities
Deliver operator and maintenance training at customer sites
Provide production and system support for installed machines and automation lines
Serve as the Controls Engineering lead on assigned projects, partnering closely with Project Management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electronics, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
3–5 years of experience in custom automation and industrial control systems
Strong PLC and HMI programming experience
Proficiency with Siemens and Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) platforms, including servo motion control
