Manual Lathe Operator

Job Description

Lathe Hand is responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic lathes to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate should have experience in lathe operations, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with various metals and alloys.

Responsibilities:

· Set up and operate lathes to produce precision metal parts

· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

· Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of parts

· Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards

· Perform routine maintenance on lathes and other equipment

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment as needed

· Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area

· Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of 2 years of experience operating lathes in a manufacturing environment

· Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

· Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and ability to use them effectively

· Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues

· Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to maintain a safe work environment
