STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking an ETL Data Engineer on behalf of our client in Columbus, OH, Dallas, TX, Minneapolis, MN, or Tupelo, MS. This role focuses on designing and modernizing enterprise data warehouse solutions, with an emphasis on transitioning legacy ETL systems to cloud-based architectures using AWS and Python. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ETL development, cloud migration, and data engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain ETL pipelines and data solutions following industry best practices.
Translate business requirements and data mapping documents into technical designs.
Develop and execute unit tests; support system integration and regression testing.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate progress, risks, and blockers.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and optimize data processes.
Stay current with emerging technologies and data engineering trends.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
Lead specific projects and ensure timely, high-quality delivery. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience in ETL development within enterprise data warehouse environments.
Strong experience with Python/PySpark and SQL.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as IBM DataStage.
5+ years of experience with database programming and data processing.
3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including migration projects.
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, architecture, and best practices. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Professional level) are a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience mentoring or leading development teams.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and data protection practices.
Experience in the financial services or banking industry.
Experience defining data warehouse roadmaps and future-state architectures.
