The Manager, Digital and External Communications helps lead the organization’s external communications strategy, with primary accountability for digital channels, online reputation, stakeholder insights, and integrated campaign delivery.

This role oversees digital communications including social media platforms, digital content and governance, analytics, and reputation monitoring to ensure cohesive, accessible, and engaging experiences for key audiences. The Manager also provides data-driven insights to inform executive decision-making, narrative positioning.

Major Responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of an integrated external and digital communications strategy aligned with corporate priorities, reputation goals, and stakeholder expectations.

Provide strategic counsel on digital presence, public positioning, and emerging reputational risks, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.

Oversee the planning, development, governance, and continuous improvement of content across the corporate website and social media platforms.

Ensure content quality, accessibility, brand alignment, and user experience, while managing workflows, editorial calendars, and approval processes.

Direct the organization’s social media strategy, including content, community management, paid campaigns, and real-time engagement protocols.

Implement social listening and monitoring to track sentiment, identify emerging issues, and inform proactive reputation management.

Plan and deliver integrated digital campaigns, including audience targeting, performance measurement, and optimization based on analytics.

Consolidate insights from analytics, media, stakeholder feedback, and research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and inform decision-making.

Support crisis and issues management by ensuring timely, accurate, and coordinated communications across digital platforms.

Lead and develop a high-performing team while partnering cross-functionally to strengthen digital capability, governance, and performance measurement frameworks.

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or Public Relations (required).

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in communications or public relations.

Two years people leadership experience.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong editorial judgment.

Analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to synthesize multiple data streams into strategic insight.

Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills.

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
